Squadron Radio Amateurs Tune In To Success

Three cadets and a civilian member of staff belonging to 2425(Nottingham Airport) Squadron Air Training Corps at Tollerton passed their Amateur radio Foundation License Exam on Wednesday night after an intensive 4 day course given by the squadron’s Comms Instructor Tony Wardle – G4XZA.

The course, which covered technical basics and licensing laws, also had practical exercises which included sending and receiving morse-code, inter-connecting and operating various pieces of radio equipment and ended with them speaking on the air to amateur radio enthusiasts as far away as North Wales. The four successful candidates now qualify for their own Amateur Radio Callsigns.
