Record 3 Cadets Gain Their 'Wings'

3 cadets from 2425 (Nottingham Airport) Squadron, based at Tollerton, have achieved a squadron record. It is the first time that the Squadron has had three serving cadets attain their flying ‘wings’ – learning to fly and going solo. The three cadets are Flt Sergeant Andrew Redwood, Sergeant Chris Rowmanowski and Sergeant Adam Jones.

Sergeant Romanowski said “The Gliding Scholarship experience was definitely one of the best moments in my ATC career. It has greatly prospered my chances of going for my life’s ambition to become a pilot in the RAF”.

Flt Lt Frost, who is the officer in charge of 2425 Squadron said “I am extremely proud of the three cadets who have attained their Wings. It is highly unusual for so many current cadets to gain their wings at the same time and I wish them good luck in whatever their future ambitions may be. A Gliding Scholarship is just one of the many exciting opportunities that we offer in the Air Training Corps”.
