When you Wish Upon a Star is Squadron Charity 2009

Each year 2425 Squadron ‘adopts’ a charity. Even though we rely on donations ourselves we still see it as important that we fund raise and donate to worthy causes. In fact it is part of the ATC’s community ethos to help groups and charities. This year (2009) the Squadron will be raising money for When You Wish Upon a Star, the locally-based charity that helps make dreams come true for sick children. Maggie Falconer, a Fund Raiser for the charity said “We are delighted that 2425 Squadron Air Training Corps has adopted us as their charity for 2009 and we look forward to the Squadron becoming involved in the various fund-raising events that we hold throughout the year”. Maggie gave a talk to the Cadets and showed a video of the excellent work that the charity carries out with sick children and their families. The first of the Squadron’s events that will raise money on behalf of the charity is a sponsored walk in April and the Jumble Sale at Keyworth Cricket Pavilion on June 6th.
