Twenty Eight Cadets from South and East Midlands Wing Air Cadets, have just completed a week long outdoor activity camp at the National Air Cadet Adventure Training Centre, Llanbedr, in Wales.

Two Cadets from 2425 Nottingham Airport Squadron were amongst the contingent: FS Hannah Mackay and Cadet Evan Foster, as well as two members of staff from the Squadron: Civilian Instructors Alan Rawsthorne and Andrew Burton.

Activities included walking, climbing, canoeing, paddle boarding, mountain biking, orienteering and skiing/tubing. The Cadets were divided into three Flights and each day they did a different activity. Friday was a relatively relaxing day with an awesome visit to Llechwedd slate caverns followed by an afternoon at the beach and eating fish and chips. It was a long and tiring week for cadets and staff alike, but everyone thoroughly enjoyed the many activities and the socialising in the evenings at the centre. During the evenings cadets had further opportunities to climb on the climbing wall and have a go at the 'Leap of Faith' - a real 'bottle' tester! For many cadets this was their second or even third visit which goes to show just how enjoyable the adventure weeks are. Interested: contact us www.2425atc.org.uk/join.
