2425 Squadron was contacted by Tollerton Parish Council to see if they would take part in a special event that took place on 1st June near the War Memorial at Tollerton. The Parish Council had agreed to the siting of a special memorial dedicated to the US 507th US Parachute Infantry Regiment that were based in a large camp at Tollerton Hall just before the D-Day landings. The last 3 veterans were coming from the US to mark the event and other activities had been arranged, such as re-enactments and a spectacular flypast by the Dakota of the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight (BBMF). The Squadron was very honoured to be invited and proud to take part in this important event.
